Special Edition: Shameless Promotion of My Fellow Writers

Thanks for all your words of support from my weekend post!  We are getting things under control at home and I am returning to the blogging community  . . . well NOW.

But enough about me.  I'm super-excited to write this post.  As you know if you've followed my blog for any length of time, my very best friend is another writer/blogger, Nancy Thompson.  She wrote an amazing book, an adult psychological thriller called The Mistaken.  I was lucky enough to be an early critique partner for her and even in its early stages, the book knocked my socks off!  In the last 2 years, Nancy has worked harder than anyone I know at making her book better, honing her craft and becoming an all-round better writer.  Well all her hard work has finally paid off because over the weekend

SHE SIGNED A BOOK DEAL!!!!

Nancy searched for an agent for a long time with no luck.  When she heard about a new, small press starting up, Sapphire Star Publishing, she submitted there (like many small presses, SSP does not require authors to be agented in order to submit) and because SSP rocks and clearly knows quality fiction when they see it, they loved Nancy's book and made her an offer.

Nancy's book will be out on October 18, 2012 and I strongly urge all of you to buy copies because it is a fabulous book that will take your breath away!

Here's to Nancy!  Congrats!  Your wonderful news has cheered me up at a time when I sorely needed it and gives me hope that after years of waiting and hard work, the publishing dream really can come true!  And as you know, Nancy:  I love you!!!!

  6. Big congrats to Nancy and to her critique partner as well. Novels don't get written and perfected alone. :))

And thanks for getting caught up on my blog. Can't believe you went back and read all those posts. :D

And, and hoping everything is well at your house. You've been in my thoughts.

  7. Aw, thank you, Lisa! You have to know ('cause I tell you all the time) that my book would be a big fat nothing if it weren't for you. You inspired me, you made me think & feel more than I imagined I ever could. You helped bring my characters to life & made their journey make sense. It sure has come a long way since that first time you read it. And to think you had the patience to read it 3 times!! That's way way beyond the call of duty! But even with all this wonderful chaos that's swirling around me right now, the very best part of this journey has been finding you. You are a HUGE part of my life & I never want that to change! I love you!!!!!!!!
