Slightly Off-Topic: What I Did This Valentine's Day

That's me and my husband!

So in my Is It Hot In Here Bloghop post, I alluded to doing something stealth on Valentine's Day.  Well I got married!  It was a stealth wedding.  We told practically no one and the few people we did tell (i.e. siblings) found out only a day beforehand.  Many of them were good sports and could actually attend our small, stealth ceremony on such short notice . . . on a weekday!  Since Tuesday, we've been having fun springing the news on everyone we know.  Well fun and a few awkward moments.

We've been together several years, been engaged for a few of those, have a beautiful, incredible child together, a cozy little house.  All that was missing was the actual marriage thing.  So we just went for it.  It was incredibly romantic, then nauseatingly stressful, then awesome fun!

So I want to do two things:  1.) apologize to the other bloghoppers that I'm taking so long to get to their posts.  I'm really interested in them and working my way through as I get time!  2.) Thank my bff, Nancy Thompson, for dedicating her bloghop post to me!  I certainly could not have survived the nauseatingly stressful period without Nancy!

Also I've got a couple of blog posts semi-prepared for the future.  Which do you vote for next?

A post on polish (as in polishing your book, not your shoes!)
A post on research
A post with a sample of some of my really old, really awful writing?
OR
A write-in suggestion (i.e. something not on this list)

  1. Oh wow, congratulations! That is amazing news!!

My aunt and uncle did the surprise wedding thing, except that my uncle arranged it and didn't even tell my aunt until he drove her into the city and told her to pick a wedding dress because they were getting married that afternoon lol.

I vote for a post on book polishing :D

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks. That is a crazy story about your aunt and uncle. I guess they went through with it. Kind of romantic in its way!

  2. Aw, congratulations. How romantic to get married on Valentine's Day. And I'll bet your daughter was so excited.

As for future posts...I like talking about research. Possibly because it includes a lot of time spent perusing the internet, which I excel at (feel free to interpret this as day-wasting).

Congrats again and wishing you much happiness. :)))

**And with this new two word verification hell Blogger has created, I'm asking everyone who uses it to please consider dropping it. It's just awful to get through for commenters.

    1. My daughter was so excited beforehand but she was kind of overwhelmed during the whole day. But then as we were buckling her into the car to go home after dinner she said, "This is the best day ever!" So . . . success. Yes, I tried removing the pesky word verification. It shouldn't come up now.

  3. Congratulations!! This is so romantic, and what a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day. I wish you and your family all the best! And, I have to admit, when you said you were doing something stealthy I never would have guessed it was getting married. That's awesome!

As for the post, I would be really interested in book polishing, as I'm just starting with editing and revising my draft and it feels like a nightmare.

Many congratulations and best wishes again!

    1. Thank you! Yes, it was unexpected for all concerned, except us. So far, more votes for polishing than anything else!

  4. What?! You got married?! Hahaha! Bet you're glad to be done with all the pre-wedding drama! Congrats on both the marriage & making it through without killing each other! You know how happy I am for you. Love you!!!!!!

As for the topics, I'd love to hear about both research & polish.

(And yeah, get rid of the Word Verification thingy. I don't use it & have only received 2 spam since October 2010, so it's unnecessary.).

I'm behind on blog rounds, too. My dad had a big heart scare this week and had to stay in the hospital for a couple days. (He's home now. Thank God!)

As for topics, you know I'm going to vote for polish. ;)
